Marin County: Raptor Migration on Hawk Hill

September 21st @ 7:00 am

Join Yolo Audubon on a field trip to view hawk migration in action. Now is the time that several species of hawks, including the Red-tailed Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, and perhaps Broad-winged Hawk make their way to southern regions. We will also join the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory's (GGRO's) "Hawk Talk" at noon. A GGRO volunteer speaks about hawk migration and identification, and the work of the GGRO. Point Reyes

September 29th @ 6:00 am

Please join us for our annual fall field trip to Pt. Reyes. Fall migration at Pt. We will meet at 6:00 AM in the Park-N-Ride lot off of Mace Boulevard (northeast of Highway 80…

We’ll be observing this on our tour around Bolinas Lagoon. Other species we may see are shorebirds: Whimbrel, Long-billed Curlew, Sanderlings, and sandpipers along the beach. Offshore, we’ll be looking for south-migrating species such as Common, Pacific and Red-Throated Loons. Meet at 7:00…

The Big Chase

October 6th @ 6:00 am

Please join us for our annual Big Chase field trip.  Fall migration should be in full swing and there should be many shorebirds, raptors and passerines to see. The locations which we visit and the rare birds that we try to see are dependent on what has been reported on the Northern California RBA and local listservs. We will meet at 6:00 AM in the Park and Ride lot off of Mace Boulevard (northeast of Highway 80 and just down from…
