Local Owling

Great-horned Owls, photo Deb Ford

This trip is an outing to look specifically for owls. There are five owl species that the group may see: Great-horned, Barn, Burrowing, Short-eared, and Western Screech. All of the search locations are publicly accessible, so tour participants will be able to return on their own.

The trip will leave from the Davis Park-N-Ride off of Mace Blvd. just east of Ikeda’s. The owling participants will meet at 3pm on February 24th and plan to be out until dark. Everyone should bring binoculars and snacks and water as wanted.

Heavy rain will cancel the trip. For more information contact Mary Schiedt at or 530-400-7094

Yolo Audubon Society field trips are free and open to the public. Some trips may be limited by number of participants. Car-pooling is encouraged, but not arranged by the club, and all rides are private arrangements between driver and riders.

Heavy rain or high winds may cancel any trip.
