Message-ID: <061420081603.9542.4853EBD300021EF5000025462216525806CFCCCA9D0A049C0708990B0A@comcast.net> Hi Yolo BBAers: Dawn Garcia of the Bank Swallow Working Group found out about the Yolo BBA when I sent her a data sheet regarding the Bank Swallow colony site Mel and I found downstream of Kirkville. She would like to know if we could boat down the Sacramento River surveying for Bank Swallow colonies, probably from the Colusa/Yolo border down to the confluence of the Feather River. Roughly 20 river miles. She is going out with the Dept of Water Recources on the Feather Rvier. The Dept of Fish and Game is doing another section. Have we considered boating the Sac River for the BBA? It would be a great idea, since access and visibility is limited along the Sac River. We might be able to find lots of nesting birds that would be difficult by vehicle or on foot. Do we have time this year? A boat? An expericnece boater? Next year? here is an the Sacramento River Atals: http://www.sacramentoriver.org/sac_river_atlas.php?index=1 Any interest? Cheers Ed -- Ed Whisler Wildlife Biologist Edward D.
